Rory McCarthy told the Bordon Herald this week that he closed [footpath 20] after becoming a victim of vandalism that had made the route a
health hazard. You'll have to buy a copy yourself if you want to read the full nonsense but briefly he was just trying to do the right thing and "some creep from the village" has put him to enormous cost and inconvenience and public safety at risk.
According to this letter from Hampshire County Council, he has until today to remove the stiles, remove the "FOOTPATH CLOSED" notices, remove any barbed wire affecting the path and make it good again.
