This Sunday, Mothering Sunday, 18th March, I shall once again be helping to marshal thousands of motorcyclists through the lanes and villages leading to Royal Wootton Bassett and raising many thousands of pounds for military charities in the process.
The ride was first run two years ago with the largest ever collection of riders. On that occasion, more than £150,000 was raised for the charity Afghan Heroes alone.
If you're not already registered for the ride, you can turn up at Hullavington Airfield anytime after 8am and pay £10 at the gate.

The ride went well although the numbers were well down on last year. Responsibility for the ride has passed from Afghan Heroes to the Royal British Legion and for various reasons was not as well promoted as in earlier years.
There were no accidents or incidents, riders came from all over the south and midlands and as far away as Manchester, the lanes and villages as well as Royal Wootton Bassett itself were lined with well-wishers especially small children waving Union Flags. Many of the riders themselves carried union or regimental flags fixed to their bikes.
As an embedded marshal I wish I'd been able to video the view from my mirror of a mile long ribbon of motorcycles!
