Green Deal Communities Fund

The Green Deal Communities Fund managed by EHDC has been extended until March 2016 for new sign-ups.

The Green Deal offers a non-refundable cashback contribution towards the cost of energy-saving products.  These will improve the energy efficiency of our residents’ homes and their health, as well as help reduce their energy bills.

The current offer is as follows:
·         50% cashback towards the installation of solid wall insulation
·         25% cashback on other energy-saving measures including new boilers, other insulation and double glazing
·         100% grants may also be available if residents are in receipt of benefits.

The monies will go back to Treasury in September 2016 if we do not spend it all, which I think is a shame as it can help a lot of our residents.

Any EHDC residents can benefit from the scheme and, as the new Project Manager, I would like to hear from any of you if you are thinking of improving your own homes and making them more energy efficient.

I would also like to hear from any of you if you know of residents, on benefits or not, who could benefit from the scheme’s support.

And lastly, I would like to hear from you if you know of any local groups (ie community, health, faith, voluntary etc) who you think I should talk to to make them aware of the scheme so that they can support our residents.

My contact details are 01730 234 352, beatrice.hubert-price@easthants.gov.uk, and I can be contacted at any time.
