A little sideshow in our neighbouring parish of Headley next month when a by-election will be held to fill two district and one county council seats following the resignations of Sam and Anna James and the subsequent death of Sam.
Obviously the Conservative candidates will win all three seats and any excitement will be confined to the rankings of the losers. Those vying for the position of runner-up are: Liberal Democrats, The Green Party, The Labour Party and The Justice & Anti Corruption Candidate.
Our very own Maureen Comber is standing for the county seat on behalf of the LibDems.

Autumn bulb planting
This year we want to plant bulbs on Lower Green, outside the Kingsley Centre and around the speed limit signs at both ends of the village. We have sought expert advice from within the village and have identified several suitable bulbs
Crocus Tommasinianus
Tenby daffodill
Pheasant eye daffodill
Frittilaria
Now we need your help in two ways: firstly we need to raise £300 to buy the bulbs, £3 per household would be more than enough, and secondly we need volunteers to spend an hour or so on Sunday 25th September or Monday 26th September actually planting the bulbs.
This is your village, please help make it that bit nicer for everyone.
